Hello

I have a strange RSS Feed issue on my portals on a DNN installation:

This is my RSS Feed, and it validates correctly as a valid feed:   http://www.dnndir.com/Home/Directory/tabid/1025/moduleid/3012/RSS.aspx

but, when I click on the link it tries to open:

http://www.dnndir.comhttp//www.DNNDir.com/Home/Directory/tabid/1025/Default.aspx

as you can see, after the first link there is no colon (:), so the link fails to load...

I reported this in the Blog Forum for another site, but this is a different module with the same problem (different DNN installation though), so I thought I would raise it here (I think it is a config error).

Any RSS Feed experts out there? Any idea where to start looking?

There is a problem somewhere in your xsl sheet.

The Channel link node is being added to the Item Link and Guid nodes, thats why you have http://www.dnndir.com preceding all of those entrys.

In your style sheet, you should have this in there:

<xsl:template match="rss/channel">

<xsl:for-each select="item  ......

.....select and format each node within the item node

</xsl:for-each>

And you want to use the guid as the link or url to take you directly to that entry.

If thats not enough info to help, post your stylesheet, and we'll show you the error and how to fix it.

Thanks G-Hunter

I am not sure what XSLT it is using - it is the core repository module on DNNDir.com, which uses the core RSS functionality (based on the search interface I believe) and shown using the module container. I am not sure what XSLT it uses if none is specified, but I would imagine it is the one that shipped in the latest DNN version. A lot of people would be using this one?

It does not appear to be an XSLT issue as the problem appears in the orignal rss source.

Just a guess here... Do you have both these two alias defined: www.DNNDir.com and www.dnndir.com? Try and remove one of them.
