Im not sure if its a cache setting in the database that is causing this but I have this issue on clean installs and old ones.  However its really bad on my older installation of DNN which I started clean at 5.0.

I started a clean 6.0 RC which has a better user interface but still same bugs with updating and editing anything.

I have cache on the website not on, I dont even allow my browser to store webpages settings or cookies so I can dev faster.   This thing is eating up so much valuable time dinking around with the menu if i need to change it I feel like writing this nice post to let you know I have been having this issue.

could it be cache in the database?  maybe a clear cache in database whenever you clear cache is something to think about if so.

However the main concern is besides updating content in HTML modlues and not seeing the results post and every time I refreshe the page it looks different from the old way to the new way.

Now for the menu when I move pages as child object or move them in different orders they are glitched up in 10 different ways each time i refresh or edit something and see the page come back i may or may not see what I am suppose to as far as order goes.

One thing that caught my attention on one install is the way the pages are being listed when i look at all pages in admin module.

Example

Community
...Forum
.......Blog
...........Downloads

now lets say all three of those under community show up as the next child but it shows me that they are child of child of child

it should look like this

Community
...Forum
....Blog
....Downloads

Now its been glitch  up so badly i have some that look like this:

Community
...Forum
......................................................Blog
.................................................................................................................Downloads

somehow thngs are not getting refreshed to me so when I try to do something I may not notice I am looking at an old page and then pretty mcuh set things up differently hwoever thinking what I did was already done causes everything to be moved around .

For example I may move forum to be a parent, then move blog to be a parent, and move something else under community, but then go wait I want to move it back the way it was i like it that way however after movign things around my end result is the appplication moving who knows what around.

I think it is showing the right values to the database but when I see things it is not showing what is actually linked to that data.  This goes for inside admin modules and on the basic template loook and feel.

Granted with caching off it works a little bitter and maybe it was caching that caused the problem I am having but its sure a mess.  Seems like if you updated a page it should automatically rebuild and cache that new page.

Please help if there is anything I can do to make this work smoother.

I also need to get a better editor like the newest FCK at least  or CK or Terelik i belive I am using 2.6.4 and 2.6.6 is released.  THis issue has been a problemt he entire time I have ran DNN 5.0+

the symptoms you describe demonstrate out-of-sync caches -this can happen if you're running in a webfarm and are not syncronising cache or if you are running your site on a webgarden (i'm guessing this is your issue as you would have likely mentioned webfarm) - please see http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W... to understand why webgadens dont work for asp.net sites by default and how to resolve this.
