Here at www.oneusa.com we use WebMon (version 1.0.11) which is a little exe file that can run on any windows computer i.e. your server or your workstation.  It is highly configurable... and it's free software from http://www.markwell.btinternet.co.uk/...

In addition to visiting web pages on a schedule you can set (minutes, hours, days) it can also display a Yellow Star icon to the left telling you when the content on that page has changed.... AND you can even tell it which part of the page to scan.  This might be good for detecting hackers if configured correctly for your pages.
