I upgraded my site from 5.6.3 Community edition to 6.0 Community edition, and the Admin and Host tabs have disappeared. I am also unable to successfully edit any content. I can open the editor and make changes, but when I click "Save", any changes are lost. It also seems as if DNN is still using the FCK editor. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

its normal for admin/host to disappear, they're now a part of the control panel at the top.As for the FCK editor, I haven't heard of that -i posted how to change to telerik on another of your posts, could you make that change and see if that resolves.

Thanks for pointing out the Admin and Host links in the Control Panel. I can see that 6.0 is going to take some getting used to after working my way up over the years from 4.6! I was not able to find any host->html editor manager, though I scoured the various host options, so I had to make the change to the web.config file described in the link you provided. That did the trick, and now I'm using the Telerik editor AND (most importantly) my changes are saving. So I'm good to go, thanks to your great help. Much appreciated!

Having attended the DNN 6.0 Webinar today, I realized that my Control Panel has not changed since my upgrade to 6.0. It still looks like the same control panel as before, and scrolls with the page rather than persisting. Is this another web.config change or may it be specific to the skin I'm using? Thanks!

Hi Crilly,

It sounds like you were using the Icon bar or perhaps a 3rd party Control panel. DNN will not touch your Control Panel if you aren't using the Ribbon bar (can check in Host -->Host Setting -->Other Settings tab: Control Panel (drop down list).

You can set it to "Ribbon Bar" and you should see new Ribbon Bar as your Control Panel.

Thanks,

Jogi
