Hi there,

My session variables are lost for some reason... I checked on IIS settings ant it shows:  In proces, cookiesettings: USE Cookies, ASP.NET session_ID, 20 mitnutes..... -> I think this is also the default settings.

I googled and read Session variables are bad use cache or whatever.

Here is the case:
I've a eshop page. People can select items and put them in basket, these are anonymous users and dnn logged on users. So both users can order. But for some reason the session variables are lost.  I thought the reason could be response.redireact ("bbbb", "false") but this is not the issue because even in Ordering page the session variables are lost. So the "basket" (order items) becomes empty....

so the questions is how to solve it what to use in stead of session variables.... Caching?   I understand caching is for whole application so If someone (user A) caches User B will see the value too.   What about the anonymous users - > those users don' thave userid...

I'm lost .... please advice?

Session variables can be a problem if you are hosted on a webfarm / cloud type system.
Out of the box dnn does not support webfarms for this reason.

If your session variables are disappearing this is one of the most likely reasons.
