Hi all ll,

I recently left WH4L when the renewal price for a basic package come in at $174 also the very poor service I have had with them. Now I am using Arvixe as my hosting provider and so far I am happy with it.

I moved my first site to them myself and set it all up without a problem, the site loads and users can log in. However this is where it gets a little strange. Normal users can log in and out and navigate without any issues. When I log in with either the administrator or host account I am unable to logout, the link does not respond. Also when logged in with either the admin or host account I am unable to edit any pages, the little arrow does not appear (I am not in view mode, this is another thing that will not respond)
Another thing I have noticed is that a lot of the admin links on pages will not work. Has anyone got any ideas why this is happening?

Thanks

I am running DNN 05.05.01. I have just tried to apply the DNN_Blue skin but I am unable to. I can load the Skin page but when I select a skin I do not get the previews of the skin loading, when I hot preview on the current loaded skin it only previews the current skin.

I am wondering if this could be a permissions issue??

Problem has now been solve by playing around with the settings on the new hosting company. I had a look in the Extensions section that holds the version of ASP.net.

It was set to 2.0 Integrated Pipeline, I changed this to just version 2.0 and the whole thing is now working. All admin functions now work, I can log out as the admin account, and edit pages.

So my question is whats the difference between ASP 2.0 Integrated Pipeline and ASP 2.0?

Thanks

Originally, asp.net was just an extension or pluging for IIS (microsoft web server) that ran as what is called a isapi extension - basically the server handed work off to these extensions as needed. - that is classic mode.  In this mode asp.net was basically and entirely separate system with its own internal pipeline.

Integrated mode basically moves asp.net from being an addon isapi extension to much deeper into the core of the server.  Effectively placing asp.net right in the middle of the IIS pipeline.

While this move gives asp.net far greater control of the server pipeline and workflow - doing so meant the need for some changes to how asp.net applications function - and meaning some changes were needed to most modules for them to behave properly when running integrated mode.

The most recent versions of dnn are fully functional in either mode - but some of the older versions need to be run in classic mode.  Either way dnn still functions exactly the same way.   I would suggest that you look at upgrading to 5.6.3 though.
