I have verified that the conditions described in the bug and also if you edit Appearance directly through the page settings are fixed in 6.0.1

DNN-17475- Setting an icon to home page cause IIS to crash

I have tried putting 6 - 8 different modules on a blank page, in specific panes, moving between panes even and have not been able to reproduce a 503 error.
John, if you have more information about what pane you're setting and module(s) you use that cause this I'd very much appreciate a post with that info

Thx,

Is there a workaround until 6.0.1 us available?

I'll assume that the silence indicates that there is no workaround for this.

Ken, It seems that the bug is not fixed. I was able to upgraded 6.0.1 yesterday and today the 503 error has returned.
