Hi all,

I upgraded one of my sites last night to DNN 6, the install want fine. When I view my site the skin I put on has gone wrong. You can have a look at: http://www.logged.com/default.aspx

The menu now runs behind the content so some options are un-selectable, also the login box is huge on the main page. The last thing I noticed is that I was unable to open any of the edit menus when logged in as Admin.

Can anyone suggest why this is happening. I will be rolling the site back from backups tonight so it will be back on DNN 5.5.1.

EDIT: I have just checked my site in IE and it looks fine in this but the edit menu will still not load.

Thanks

Firstly, having rolled back, you might want to follow the suggested upgrade path see http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Forums/forumid/200/threadid/426271/scope/posts.aspx and sort out any problems as you go. Secondly, there is an issue with the z-index on some skins in DNN 6, there have been other threads on the subject, I will try to find one and post the link. Thirdly, you might have an issue with duplicate skins which need to be deleted, again I will see if I can find a previous post on the issue.

Duplicate skins issue, check 3rd post on http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Forums/forumid/190/postid/424459/scope/posts.aspx. Still searching for a post on the z-index (annoying as I usually bookmark these sort of posts for future reference). You also need to be aware of the missing HTML Editor Manager in DNN 6, see http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Forums/forumid/108/postid/424745/scope/posts.aspx#424745.

Thanks for the info, thsi will give me some good reading. I did look at the upgrade instructions. But as my site is just a hobby site and nothing really important I didn;t bother doing a duplicate of the site.

However once my home Domain Controller and Web Server gets finished I ill be hosting locally and doing all test on the local before the live :D

Once again thanks for the info :D

Try http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Forums/forumid/200/threadid/424355/scope/posts/threadpage/1.aspx for the z-index issue.
