Hello All,

this is probably the stupidest questions anyone is going to hear but for some reason or another i followed the setup instructions in the help file for DNN 4 and i must have screwed up the web.config file somehow. When i try to install i get the following error message :

the error is stated clearly in the first line:

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString

  • which DNN (3.1/3.2/4.0) and MSSQL version (2000/2005/Express) do you use?
  • For MSSQL Express: which connection mode do you use (classic or file based) and how did you setup your sql server and connection
  • what does your connection string look line (please do not post your username and password)
