Hi all

we got a new Domain for our Web Page. I changed the Portal Alias

Old : black.xtoolz.ch
New : www.black-dvas.eu

I added the Host Header on the IIS, and restarted the IIS.

Now I got this Problem, after opening the Page in IE/FireFox the Page returns a DotNetNuke Error and a Button 'Return to Site'.
After Click on this Button all seems to be OK. Direct Navigation to http://black-dvas.eu/Default.aspx works ?

What can I do to fix this Problem ?

Kind Regards
Peter

Peter:

Do you see any actual errors in the DNN logs?

I presume that you have a default document in the IIS "Documents" tab correct?

Just to be sure, I would reboot the server.  I know you said you restarted IIS but there are many levels of cache that are involved and I have seen strange problems like this before that went away after rebooting the server.

rebooting didn't help in this case :-(
I checked up all the Settings on the Server, they are correct - the old URL is still working perfect !

This problem must be within DNN...

Any further Ideas ?

did you update the portal alias via the UI or in the database directly-ive seen this type of error where a portal alias incorrectly contained the protocol (e.g. http) or ended with a slash, because people did direct database updates rather than let the application use its validation

I did it on both sides !

First via the Page - later directly in the DB.
It true, the error occures in the PortalAlias Table

ErrorPage.aspx?status=500&error=Violation+of+UNIQUE+KEY+constraint+%27IX_PortalAlias%27.+Cannot+insert+duplicate+key+in+object+%27dbo.PortalAlias%27.%0d%0aThe+statement+has+been+terminated."

Can I delete the Records in the Table and re create them from the page ?
