are you seeing the same effect as the other user i.e. ManageTabs.ascx.cs grows in size? I cant find anything about this issue (i.e. unexpected character - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/59k0x971.aspx ), and can't guess why it's affecting your install and 1 other and not any of the other 60,000+ downloads. All I can suggest is opening managetabs.ascx.cs, opening notepad, copying and pasting the text over and saving that file as managetabs.ascx.cs.

If I had to make a guess here - I would put the blame on the jquery / javascript code being injected into the page to handle the dnn tabs.
Seen this sort of error happen on a couple of skins that made use of jQuery elements.  The runtime compiler was trying to wrongly compile the jquery code - hence the error.

I was of the view that all dnn jquery code should always be injected with jQuery.noConflict() and full jQuery() calls instead of the $() shortcut.
This will ALWAYS prevent conflicts with skins or modules that are doing their own jQuery injection.

I am having the same issue. I cannot access "Page Settings" or "Add" tabs from Page/Actions tab in the control panel. On the Admin/Pages page I cannot access the "More Settings" tab. These features are working on a locally installed copy of DNN6 but not on a hosted site at Godaddy.

The file DesktopModules/Admin/Tabs/ManageTabs.ascx.cs was growing in size from 144KB to 147KB. The file was inserting '਍' into the file. I ran a debug in Visual Studio on a downloaded local copy of the site and found that DesktopModules/Admin/Languages/LanguageEditor.ascx.cs and ResourceVerifier.ascx.cs in the same directory were similarly corrupted. I replaced the files with copies from a install version of DNN 6. I now get a different error message. I have checked the ManageTabs.ascx.cs file and am unsure if I'm looking in the right place to fix the issue.

Error: is currently unavailable.DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: d:\hosting\5348314\html\uberdnn\DesktopModules\Admin\Tabs\ManageTabs.ascx.cs(1): error CS1024: Preprocessor directive expected ---> System.Web.HttpCompileException: d:\hosting\5348314\html\uberdnn\DesktopModules\Admin\Tabs\ManageTabs.ascx.cs(1): error CS1024: Preprocessor directive expected at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.CompileWebFile(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultInternal(VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithNoAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResultWithAssert(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.Compilation.BuildManager.GetVPathBuildResult(HttpContext context, VirtualPath virtualPath, Boolean noBuild, Boolean allowCrossApp, Boolean allowBuildInPrecompile) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(VirtualPath virtualPath) at System.Web.UI.TemplateControl.LoadControl(String virtualPath) at DotNetNuke.UI.ControlUtilities.LoadControl[T](TemplateControl containerControl, String ControlSrc) at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.WebFormsModuleControlFactory.CreateModuleControl(TemplateControl containerControl, ModuleInfo moduleConfiguration) at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.ModuleControlFactory.LoadModuleControl(TemplateControl containerControl, ModuleInfo moduleConfiguration) at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.ModuleHost.LoadModuleControl() --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

that may be something-there was (anecdotal) reports of godaddy creating an incorrect version of 6.0 for their auto deploy - that would explain why it's only affected a few people, none of whom could recreate the issue on their local machines. As to the new error message-it could also be godaddy related, Ive never seen it in relation to dotnetnuke before (sorry I can't offer any advice beyond raising it with godaddy support)
