Hi

 I just upgraded a site from 5.2 to 6.1
 No errors reported but many html modules display only error messages.

 Event viewer extract.
 DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException:
 The type initializer for 'DotNetNuke.Modules.Html.DataProvider' threw an exception. ---> System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'DotNetNuke.Modules.Html.DataProvider' threw an exception. ---> System.InvalidCastException:

 Both the provider and html versions seem correct. Off to look at webconfigs now but thought it worth a quick post in case anyone can help.

 Thanks

 Ian

I am also having this issue.  Same exact error on HTML modules.

I upgraded from 4.9 to 6.0 with seemingly few problems outside of this one.
I tried uninstalling and re-installing the HTML module, I switch to th Rad editor instead of fck - no luck

Has anyone solved this ?

Solved :

In my case, the upgrade left 2 things behind that DNN 6 did not like.

1 - in the app_code directory, I deleted the HTML folder (since it does not seem that it was in use anymore and was potentially conflicting with new html module code)

2 - in web.config, I removed the following line in the <Codesubdirectories> section

<add directoryName="HTML" />

I don't know if this helps anyone else, but just in case...
