the constraint mentioned simply ensures that HTTPAlias in the portalalias table is unique i.e. that the same url is not used for 2 portal alias's (as dotnetnuke would not know where to go). The problem here is that during install only 1 one portal and 1 portal alias is added (set to the currently executing domain) so I can't see how the constraint is broken. All I can think is that it is executing against a database that already has records (and not a brand new database e.g. either a populated database in app_data if youre using sql express or a database in sql server). One other possibility I guess is if the install process runs twice - a possibility is that the application pool is running as a webgarden (please see http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/Webgardens.aspx ) which is not a supported configuration

Application pool is set to 1 thread.  I think my host is having some other trouble with servers... maybe when they get that resolved it will take care of this issue too.

I have seen other incidents of a similar nature posted by others, but I think they were on upgrades or on an older version of DNN.

I would go check out the db myself, but don't have the current SQL Enterprise Manager (or whatever it's called these days).  Do you know of a free tool that takes it's place or has similar functionality?

Ah! It worked that time (20th time's the charm?) but now I've got the "Couldn't load menu style 'admin/Menus/DNNAdmin'" talked about elsewhere. I think I'll download the 6.0.01 release and go through it all again.

Update: reinstall (had to try a couple times) worked. Performance is spotty. I have a hunch my webhost isn't quite up to speed on their new machines (found out they migrated accts last week).

Thanks for the help,
JS
