I'm facing the same issue. (I'm using DNN 5.6.2 and DDRMenu 2.0.0)
My node selector is set to "RootChildren" and the menu fails when it's on a page without the "Include in menu" box checked.
The "View Page" permission is set to "All Users".

Is there a solution to this ?

This is also present in DNN 6.1.1

Can anyone from DNN Corp. chime in?

This looks like a bug i reported ages back and had to report again. Someone mentioned this is a skinnning issue but i still think is a core issue.
