Hi everybody,

We developed a module wich is working and installed though during development we were tight to deadlines. Now, after customer apoval, we have more time/money in order to give the module some improvements. We realize that some refactoring should be done to the code, and the overall architecture.

The module generates simple modules dinamically based on tables in the database. From a given table and some options user selects, it generates stored procedures, DAL code, view control and edit control, ...

And here is the question, we would like to give the user feedback when all the code/work is being generated (actually we do it when it finishes) but have no idea on how to do it. Could you please give some advice on it?

Thanks in advance,
Marc

Im not sure what you're asking -you've created a dotnetnuke module that generates other dotnetnuke modules and need to give the user feedback during the generation? If so any ajax based solution would be approriate - one example you can look at in the core is the code that runs during content localization (which can be a very long running action) - DesktopModules\Admin\Languages\LocalizePages.ascx - look at the DnnProgressManager and DnnProgressArea code.

Thanks,

I'll have a look to content localization, I think it's what I'm looking for.
