After the update from DNN 5.6.3 to 6.0.1 (Announcements module version stayed by 4.0.3) the Extensions dialog on both of my installations (test and production) show me, that the Announcement module is not searchable:

Is this new or was the Announcements module always not searchable?

Many thanks for any pointers.

Maybe I've hit the

Issue# DNN-17662 - Extension Manager Resetting Portability on Modules

 It seems to reset the Searchable flag as well if it is not set in the .dnn manifest file of the module. The DesktopModule table contains in the column SupportedFeatures the value 0.

Best regards,
Theo

So I was able to fix my problem, the following update restored the SupportedFeatures flag to the "old" value 3:

UPDATE
{databaseOwner}[{objectQualifier}DesktopModules]
SET
SupportedFeatures = 3
WHERE
DesktopModuleID = <Your-Announcements-Module-Desktop-ID>

 During the upgrade process this column seemed to get reset to 0, which disables the Is Portable and Is Searchable features of the Announcements module (and therefore the RSS feature).

Best regards,
Theo
