Hi all,
I'm new to DNN, and last night I was trying to promote a regular user to a superuser.  I found a script to do the promotion for me, but after I ran it, the site started responding with a screen stating it was unavailable.  I restarted the web server and that fixed the site availablility, but now when I try to add users as the main superuser, I get the screen below.

I used the script from this blog to do the promotion.

Changing the SuperUser = 1 (true) is a handy trick to promote a user to Super User and I've done that many times in the past. I'm not sure if running the script has any impact on the 503 error you're getting.

Try this:

1) Clear Event Viewer
2) Restart App Pool (Host > Host Settings > Restart Application)
3) Try to duplicate the error
4) Check Event Viewer for any clues
5) Check Server Logs

503 is a server side error usually indicating that server is busy or cannot fully respond. I doubt there is a correlation between this and your sql script.
