I'm developing a module that works with tabs and skins and I need to obtain the SkinSrc of current tab.

If I get an active tab via PortalSetting
PortalSettings.ActiveTab.SkinSrc
 I'm getting the following value:

/dnn601/Portals/_default/Skins/DarkKnight/Home-Mega-Menu.ascx

But if I get the tab using TabController
New TabController().GetTab(PortalSettings.ActiveTab.TabID, PortalSettings.PortalId, True).SkinSrc
 the value is:
[G]Skins/DarkKnight/Home-Mega-Menu.ascx

This is a bug or a feature?

its a feature not a bug. It's the same value effectively - the [G] indicates the skin is globally available (i.e. is installed in the portals/_default folder) whereas an [L] would indicate that it is only installed within the current portal. The SkinController.FormatSkinSrc method is where the [G] and [L] is converted over to a full path. Note: you can see the link being used via the admin->skins page and notice that the path is converted by DotNetNuke on the fly.
