Hi there,
I'm new to DotNetNuke and would like to ask if someone can please give me the short story about DotNetNuke?
What are the differences between the 3 versions and pricing plan? Do I have a full access to the code meaning do I have the permission to modify it?
Cheers
mkariti

Hello - DotNetNuke has 3 editions, CE (free), PE (costs) and EE (costs) - you can see a comparison at http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Products/Compare-Editions.aspx. The CE edition is free and ships with all source code (and the liberal MIT/BSD licence means you can do what you like with the code e.g. alter, rename, resell etc.,The PE/EE editions simply reuse the CE edition and add some additional functionality. However all of this functionality uses the existing extension model so it is delivered as new modules, providers, skins etc. i.e the core is the exact same in all 3 versions.

AFAIK, DNN PE is 2.499 USD per year and installation (web head), and it doesn't include source code for the extra extensions.

Hi Sebastian Leupold,
Many thanks for your reply. Is it possible to extend the capability of the CE to act as an Ecommerce?
If so do I need to purchase an extension?
Many thanks
mkariti
