Hi there

How could I programmatically load custom settings from a (self developed) module from outside (not within the module itself)? I understand that there is a module-id (e.g. listed in the html-code like <!-- Start_Module_nnn -->, where 'nnn' would be the id). But this id could be completely different on different installations I guess. Is there some other way than the id (like an unique keyword or something)?

Thx for any tipps

I figured it out myself:

Dim mc As DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.ModuleController = New DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.ModuleController()
Dim mi As DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.ModuleInfo = mc.GetModuleByDefinition(portalSettingId, "MyModulesFriendlyName")
If mi.ModuleSettings("MyModulesSettingKey") IsNot Nothing Then
   // Do whatever you like
End If

ATTENTION: It seems that with the above solution, there is somewhere a DNN-cache inbetween. Only a restart of the application would deliver the freshly set value!
