My goal is to sync the DNN portal configuration between two or more environments. For ex, some pages and modules were added / changed in Dev... Then after these changes are approved, I want them exported into the Live environment.

I don't think DNN provides any UI to export / import its configuration so it's about syncing the DNN databases, right?

After Googling on this topic, all I found was a set of paid video tutorials about using Red Gate (database comparison software) to compare the DNN databases, and also an attempt to script DNN page configuration as a set of SQL updates. Both methods are not "straightforward" solutions as they require solid knowledge of the DNN database and A LOT of DB developer's labor during synchronization. Moreover, I find it very easy to break the target environment. By no means these methods can be treated as "routine" procedures. Is there an easier and a more automated way to export / import the DNN portal configuration? I am currently thinking about straight copying the whole DNN database (except for user related tables) into the Live environment. Does this sound like a good idea?
