My company wants the home page to redirect to a secure area after the user logs in and every other page to redirect back to the page they were on after logging in.  Is this possible and how?

Yes. In 6.x go to Admin | User Accounts click on Manage and select User Settings Cllck on the User Account Settings tab. Find the Redirect After Login dropdownlist and select the page you want to redirect them to on login.

For other pages....the core will retain the ReturnURL when they try and access a page that is not available to anonymous users (or users not in the required security role for that page). Once they login they will be redirected back to the page they started from.

That doesn't work for me as I'm running 5.x.  If I change that setting, it does it site wide because you are not specifying a particular page.

Oh I understand now. You want default behavior from all pages except the homepage. You want the homepage to redirect to a specific page after login.

Yeah, core in 5.x or 6.x won't do that. You could check into one of the many login modules on snowcovered. I've been impressed with the advanced login module and it supports some complex redirection rules.

Correct, I want the Homepage to redirect to a secure page and if they log in from any other page, it redirects them back to where they were after log in.  I'll check on Snowcovered and see what I can find.  I was hoping to find where dot net nuke does this so I can change the code there rather spending money on a module if I don't have to.
