Hi

question about skinning.
As a beginner I have been trying to adapt the existing DNN6 skins to create my own and I have come across a small issue when copying / renaming the files.

I have taken
2-Column-Left-Standard-Menu.ascx
copied and renamed to
2 column-FMB.ascx
(I also copied the xml and jpg but made no changes)

I only edited a couple of basic issues and found that this had ruined the central alignment of most of the DIVs so i changed it back to the original code to retrace the steps.

This didn’t fix the issue in IE.

As a solution I have copied the code from the original file into my new file and this still shows as a big problem in IE and a small issue in CHROME. Typically in IE the DIVs are all left aligned; in CHROME the "you are here" text from the breadcrumb line goes missing.

Does anyone know what I am missing here? Can I just copy existing skins or do I need to 'register' them with DNN?

Any help appreciated

I have only made changes to the skin.css and moved the DIVs in the ascx file
example - moved the navigation DIV below the LOGO DIV.

This works and looks fine, but when I apply my renamed skin, the formating is lost. (same DIV structure)

this makes no sense to me :(

Have you copied the .doctype file and renamed it with the same name as your skin name?
