Well, here is a though one i cannot crack solve.I am running dnn 6.02 + CATALOOK 6.3 on a dedicated web2008r2 server.

Below a user registration from a new user. This user will never remember his username to log in, Also notice the - on the first and lastname. (taken from event log)

UserID
: 660
FirstName
: -
LastName
: -
UserName
: USER33fe639c9bc547b5
Email
:
Server Naam
:Name of server - this is correct.

As it should be

UserID: 660
FirstName
: John
LastName
: Smit
UserName
: example
Email
: john.smit@example.com
Server Naam
: name of the server - this is correct.

Really strange thing here that it occurs randomly. So a mix between both examples.
Another strange thing is that i cannot reproduce it. Whenever i register it works like a charm.

Good to mention is that the user cannot register without not filling in all the required fields.

Well, hopefully one of you Gurus can enlighten me here

Some further info:

A customer gave feedback on this issue:
She told me that she could not fill in anyhting, Everything was already filled in.
She could not change anything. Also she was not able to choose a password.

I use a customized register form. I changed the advanced settings in the module users and roles (register part) the refresh interval to 90 seconds.

My cache state is set to page not to memory.

So any ideas are welcome.

it sounds like an issue with your registration module - I have never seen this myself or read about this problem in the forums.

HI Sebastian,

Thank you for your response.
Can i remove the module users and roles from the 6.02 and afterwards install the 6.01 version of this module? I am not sure if this is possible and how to do this.

Further investigation shows that there is an error in the 6.02 module.
In 6.01 a user cannot enter less than 5 characters in the username field- he will receive an error message
In 6.02 a user can type in anything he wants so less than 5 characters in the userfield name, he will receive NO error message and can continue to register.

Looking with firebug tool i can see that the next line is missing in the 6.02 version.

<span id="dnn_ctr_ManageUsers_User_userForm_userName_userName_RegEx" class="dnnFormMessage dnnFormError" style="color: Red; display:

The above line is in the 6.01 version embedded.
I think the 6.02 module is causing these errors.

Well, we found and solved the error. Actually my wife did.... yes yes..

DNN 6.02 registration module is working as it should, just perfect !

The problem was that we were not aware that customers also register themselves in catalook instead of the register module from DNN.
That causes the funny -- usernames.

Due to the upgrade from DNN and Catalook to the recent versions ( no problems at all ... yet) we tweaked  the cart module from catalook a little bit to much, causing this problem. Settings were adjusted and problem is solved.

this thread can be closed.

thank you.
