Hi all,

Quick question.... is it possible to have the same menu control to use both types of menu styles (standard and mega).

They are looking to have just a standard menu style on the menu items that only have subpages to it. In addition, for the menu items that have subpages that have children pages below them to use the mega menu style.

If this is possible, can you please send me a link to an example of one in DNN?

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

The short answer to your question is, No. A single menu control cannot use both types of menus out of the box.

The easiest way to accomplish the scenario you've described is to manually manage your page skins, depending on which menu you want to show you could simply select the corresponding version of the skin.

Besides that manual management of page skins, you could always do some custom development to be smart enough detect the number of children and load the desired menu -- but this is a whole other story.

Cheers,

After reading your question over again, I better understand your question. The solution I suggested doesn't really accomplish what you've described.

That being said, what you want to do still is not possible out of the box. It would require some custom work, creating a custom menu.

This link could point you in the right direction if you plan to create a custom menu:

HI

what you would need to do is use a combination of my different level different menu sample xsl from

http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/DDRMenu-Tips-Tricks.aspx

and combine that with an
so if level is 1 do an @node test if yes then do the mega menu if no then do your normal setup
