Hello,

I'm currently following the "Task Manager" series made by Chris Hammond, (http://www.youtube.com/user/dotnetnuk...) I am currently stuck at this part.

I'm trying to add

In my View.ascx.cs, but when I add any of the "Titel = txtTitel.Text.Trim()", they underline red in VWD and tell me "The name 'Titel' is does not exist in the current context." But I have defined it in Nieuws.cs (That's my form of Chris' Task.cs) and used it in NieuwsController.cs (Chris' TaskController.cs).

Can anyone tell me where I've made a mistake?

I'm looking forward to your repl(y)/(ies),

Tom

You might try doing a build on your project before referencing the Titel property of the object, sometimes if you haven't compiled the object it becomes hard to access. Comment out the code inside your submit, compile, then uncomment it. See if that works.

That didn't work quite well, but I might found the problem. I'm using WebMatrix to run my website, so I'm not able to select the IIS Directory in the Properties>Web tab of the TaskManager. Or can I?

Instead of using WebMatrix I would suggest trying to run things in IIS.

Webmatrix, while making it easy to pop up a site, adds to the complications of doing other things, such as module development and site deployment

Hello Chris,

I have configured my PC to work with IIS, but I am stuck at the same video, when I click on Save (Opslaan) in my Edit.ascx, it seems like it can't find the Edit.ascx.cs file, but it does find the Edit.ascx.cs file when clicking on Cancel (Stoppen). I am not using a dropdownlist, I don't know if you've used the connection code in the four lines that are necessarily for the second part of the script, but I couldn't find them.

I have published my project on CodePlex so you can check my sources:

Thanks in advantage,

Tom
