Hi there I followed the wiki in upgrading my 5.5.1 installation to 5.6.2 (that is supposed to be a quite simple operation!) but the upgrade process stops while Installing Package File ResourcePack.Full.5.2.2.it-IT.
I attach the stack trace hoping to find a solution...

i would take that package out and do your upgrade - as its only a language pack (and presumably you have a 5.6.1 one already) most of the keys will already been translated. You can then try to install the language pack via host->extensions which may give you a more informative message. In general this type of message means the language pack is invalid -either it has html that is not escaped correctly or the xml structure is not correct

Hi Cathal, thanks for your help.
I'm trying to follow your suggestion but I had some problems in removing the italian language pack 5.2.2 from my portal. (You have to know I see two italian language pack in the extension page: ver 1.0 and ver. 5.2.2.)
Ok, I wonder, What do you mean with "take the package out"? Remove a folder or uninstall the extension?


I tried to disable italian language from admin > languages (updating english as default) and then trying to remove the 5.2.2 extension from host > extensions. 
But no matter which order I do the operations I get a null pointer reference if I visit back admin > language page or try to remove the other language extension.


So after this I tried to upgrade with an older portal (ver 5.2.1) that had an older italian language pack (ver 5.1.2) to dnn ver 5.6.3...and it worked! so do you suggest to install 5.1.2 language pack over the 5.2.2 one? How could I do that?

i mean remove the zip file from the install/language folder

Hi Cathal.
The upgrade process worked by removing language pack from the install/language folder, but it shows me a warning installing CoreSitemapProvider_5.5.0.0.
Is this a problem?

Should I manually re-install the language pack now?
