Hi,

Cathal Connelly's wiki post at:

explains how to add styles by referencing RadEditor.css but I need to find out how to exclude all the unwanted default css styles from the ApplyCSS dropdown. By default the RadEditor sweeps up all styles from default, portal, skin etc and lists them out in the dropdown cluttering it up with loads of styles which are, at best, confusing to the end user i.e mostly non--techy content editors.

With FCKEditor it was easy to filter out the unwanted styles by modifying a single line in the web.confg. Does anyone know how to
remove the unwanted default styles from the new v6 RadEditor ApplyCSS dropdown leaving only the styles the we want the end user to see?
Thanks in advance

Phil

Anyone figure this out?

I'm trying it the other way around - adding the styles to the Paragraphs drop-down with only luck on the H1-H6 styles

On further investigation I have uncovered the following...

The editor settings available via Host>HTML Editor Manager only apply when DotNetNuke.RadEditorProvider is selected via the same facility. The settings will make no difference if TelerikEditorProvider is selected.

So in the absence of any further documentation regarding DotNetNuke.RadEditorProvider, it seems we have the following cases:

DotNetNuke.RadEditorProvider
++ Appearance and toolbars can be controlled via Host>HTML Editor Manager
++ Portal and user specific configurations are supported
-- Apparently no way to control which end-user styles are selectable via the ApplyCSS dropdown

TelerikEditorProvider
+- Appearance and toolbars can be controlled via config files *
-- Portal and user specific configurations are not supported (except for ApplyCSS styles)
++ End-user styles (ApplyCSS) configurable via config files *

* see http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Forums/forumid/108/threadid/364908/scope/posts/threadpage/1.aspx

So currently, TelerikEditorProvider wins out for single portal installations (imho) because the ApplyCSS dropdown can be controlled.

Asboth editors are based on the Telerik provider (I believe), I'm sure there must be some way to control the styles that appear in the ApplyCSS dropdown of the DotNetNuke.RadEditorProvider. Does anyone have insight into this?

I wrote custom paragraph styles in the toolbar and it worked quite nice because I could eliminate the CSS dropdown that grabbed styles from all over the place. Here's the secret line:

<paragraph name=" & lt;h4book class='h4book'>Heading 4 Book & lt;/h4book>" value=" & lt;span class='h4book'>" />

<paragraph name="<h4book class='h4book'>Heading 4 Book</h4book>" value="<span class='h4book'>" />

(if I can paste either of the lines into this post)
