I noticed a lazyloader provider in the new client resource API. Yet no mention of it in the wiki. I previously proposed a lazyloader integration so this intrigues me. Can an.yone explain what this is about?

Ok. Good to know it's there. I've been using http://unwrongest.com/projects/lazy/ to lazyload jquery plugins. This is different though since this provider doesnt seem it can be conditional. The plugin i use Only lazyloads registered plugins if the plugin object is actually called in code. This way you can register 50 plugins but only use the ones the page needs and get the benefits of on-demand resource loading. Thanks for the link!

Hey Michael,

Yep - Cathal is right - it's there, but it isn't in use. In DNN 6.1, you could absolutely register a file with the API and specify that as the provider, however nothing else would be using it other than the one file you registered. I'd like to see more configuration options around what providers get used where (by core framework, overriding defaults, etc) but we just aren't quite there yet. The gist of it is that we wanted to get "the basics" out the door and we now have a nice platform on which to build more customizations and enhancements. To that end, if you have any specific enhancements in mind, please feel free to log them in Gemini and start advertising them in the forum (or anywhere else for that matter).

Take care,

Ian
