DotNetNuke 4.9.4 on IIS7  This issue just started happening about 2 weeks ago, we checked and we cannot locate any files that we changed due to upgrades.  I am desperate at this point.

Symptom:
1. User attempts to register, fills out the form and required fields then clicks the "Register" link at the bottom of the page.
2. After about 20 seconds, a message is displayed stating that the user name is already in use and the user cannot proceed.

What is actually happening under the hood:
1. User clicks register and the system creates the user account.
2. The following log entry is registered in the Windows Application Log.
Faulting application name: w3wp.exe, version: 7.5.7601.17514, time stamp: 0x4ce7a5f8
Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17651, time stamp: 0x4e211319
Exception code: 0xe053534f
Fault offset: 0x0000b9bc
Faulting process id: 0x%9
Faulting application start time: 0x%10
Faulting application path: %11
Faulting module path: %12
Report Id: %13

I researched this exception and found a number of very UNHELPFUL articles about DebugDiag and also the Target CPU.

HELP!

did you make any changes, before the error occurred the first time (Compression, caching,...)?

Oddly enough it the error just stopped happening, and now it's working again.  I didn't do anything.

I would like to know what happened, but I will just close this issue for the time being unless it starts happening again.  24 hour have passed since I reported this issue, and we've had 16 new user registrations without any problems.

Thanks.

Shawn
