I am getting the following error:

Error: Create New Module is currently unavailable.DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\dnndevsite\DesktopModules\prgefTierFilesUpload\prgefTierFilesUpload\prgefTierFilesUpload.ascx'. ---> System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'C:\dnndevsite\DesktopModules\prgefTierFilesUpload\prgefTierFilesUpload\prgefTierFilesUpload.ascx'. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.FileStream.Init(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, Int32 rights, Boolean useRights, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES secAttrs, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options, String msgPath, Boolean bFromProxy) at System.IO.FileStream..ctor(String path, FileMode mode, FileAccess access, FileShare share, Int32 bufferSize, FileOptions options) at System.IO.StreamWriter..ctor(String path, Boolean append, Encoding encoding, Int32 bufferSize) at System.IO.StreamWriter..ctor(String path, Boolean append) at System.IO.File.CreateText(String path) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ModuleDefinitions.CreateModuleDefinition.CreateControl(String controlSrc) at DotNetNuke.Modules.Admin.ModuleDefinitions.CreateModuleDefinition.cmdCreate_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Look at the path. It points to another installation of DNN that is running my machine. So I can create the module on DNNdev (http://localhost:1234 C: ddndevsite\) with no problem.

When I got to create a custom module on PRGEF (http://localhost:8686  C:\GEFWebsiteDNN\) I get the error above.

Any thoughts.
Thanks, Odin

did you make sure, the Windows account, used by ASP.Net (configured in the app pool settings) has been granted edit permission for desktopModules folder and all subfolders?

I went ahead and removed the site from IIS completely and added it back in. This resolved the issue.

Strange, I have been working with DNN for years running multiple instances and versions on my machine. Its the first time I have ever seen this error. On the other hand it the first time I am working with DNN 6 and wanted to make sure it was not a bug, and if so, properly document it and submit it.

Thanks,

Odin
