I want to set up some settings in my module which i am developing in C#. can some one point me to some article where i can learn how to set up the module setting at least one field , save it and then retrieve it in my custom module using c#.

I suggest checking Module template, included in the DNN starter kit, it does include a working sample for your settings control

PS: You may also download source version of the core framework and check out settings control of HTML module or use source download of any core module (e.g. dnnformandlist.codeplex.com)

the wiki has a ton of content on module development - http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/loc/allpages/Cat/Development.aspx -the beginning module development series also covers a broad spectrum of tasks - http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/Module-Development.aspx (it uses WAP,you can of course develop with a WSP model or even use razor, whatever you feel most comfortable with). One other option is to download the starterkit, it will create simple templates that demonstrate how to show a htnleditor control and save the content.
