Ok, maybe I posted this incorrect. 

 I have the event module in list view.  There are columns AND headings that need removing as allowed via the edit settings.  No in the details view but in the list view.  I misspoke.  My apologies.  

There are two listbox with add/remove/add all/remove all controls between them.  These controls will allow you to remove these  columns and headers. 

Yep.  They aren't even being removed from the selected listbox.  I clicked update anyway and nothing.  While I did make changes to the template on the more recent site to make additional changes, I was able to remove these columns as well.

Using 5.2.0 in FF.  Doesn't work in IE8 or Chrome either.
