Hi,

Ive been having this problem only recently, but over multiple sites.

I am running DNN 6.01,01 on each of these sites (all new installs)

What is meant to happen when you mouse over a "manage" button, is the button is meant to become opaque and the menu for its module will come up.

Instead, the buttons are opaque all the time and have no reaction to when you mouse over the buttons.

This problem goes across the whole of each site its on, andI tried this in Mozilla firefox and also in internet explorer, both browsers presenting the same result.

Internet explorer message

Usually these types of problems are related to either multiple jquery references, or incompatible jquery / jquery UI versions (note one of the issues is with the .dialog() call, which is in jquery UI.

I would check to see that the jQuery references on the page are correct - this means making sure there aren't two or more references to jQuery and/or jQuery UI.  Check for the correct order and any other issues like this.

It's a good idea to trace using Fiddler so that you can see whether multiple copies of the libary are being downloaded.

If you suspect the new client resource management framework, you can switch your compilation mode to 'debug=true' in the web.config file, which temporarily deactivates part of it.  If that fixes the problem, that's where the problem lies.

Similar issues have happened to me, once due to a new control being added that caused a conflict (have you added anything new recently?). More recently, I applied a best-practice script that changed some site settings, one of which was turning on Compression in Host Settings. This caused all Manage buttons to stop working apart from the first control on each page.

If it's neither of the above, what else has changed recently?

Thanks for your response.

Also thanks to Bruce's response it looks like its skin related. Continuing my investigations

We had z-order issues caused by using a v5 skin with v6 but it didn't stop the Manage button from working.
