Hi,

I have tried to reach Dnn via form and email before with no response, so I'll try here instead :)

I hope you can find the time to answer this. We are building our site in DotNetNuke Community edition (still on version 6.00.01). I was just wondering what module I should use to get a news feed working with a workflow. What I want is to have a news feed on the first page, and when clicking on a title you get redirected to the article connected to an announcements archive.

Though when I use the modules already in the community edition (tried both news feed and announcement), I have to create this workflow manually. Meaning I have to create the archive pages and article pages manually for every news I add, instead of them being part of a workflow. This isn't very time-efficient as you can imagine ;) When I read about the news for this version I read something about a workflow like this and also an approval function. So that I can publish news automatically connected to a news archive and also have the possibility to have it approved before publishing. But still I can’t see any change since the previous versions on this matter. I just want to be able to create an article, and that it automatically gets shown in a news feed on the first page and as part of a news archive. WITHOUT having to add all these lists manually.

I would appreciate any response you could give me. I really want this to work before announcing our webpage.

Cecilia, you need to enable search indexer in Host :: scheduler in order to get feeds from announcements and other modules.

Hi Sebastian,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I was not aware of this setting. How do I find out what to write as the Full Class Name for the search indexer? (nr. 4 in manual, see example below).

4. In the Full Class Name and Assembly text box, enter the full class name followed by the assembly name. E.g. DotNetNuke.Services.Log.SiteLog.PurgeSiteLog, DOTNETNUKE

The following screenshot shows what I already have enabled etc.

Do you believe Announcements to be the best module for my needs?

Best regards,

Cecilia
