Hi,
I was away from DNN development since DNN 4.5. I installed 6.1.1 and so many changes, which is good but it looks like needs to re-learn lot of stuff.
I want to develop a site for non-profit organization and interested to know how can I create in a minimum time. In 4.x there were many modules available when you built the site and admin/host can add those modules (e.g. HTML/TEXT, Feedback, Survey etc.). In 6.1.1 no such modules are available. I am particularly interested in the following:

1.       Flash banner or non-flash Banner rotator with fade or some animation to display images and with links. How can I use Banner, the way Dotnetnuke uses on the home page.

2.       Where can find Feedback module for 6.1.1.

3.       Free DNN 6.x skins or good resource to develop one I can pay or Artisteer will do the majic?

4.       Can someone point me some thread so that I can be upto speed from 4.5 to 6.1.1?

5.       If I need to develop/publish a site, what Professional version brings me good?

6.       Any other training link or video related to 6.1.1, which should cut my development time.

Thanks in anticipation.
S Gill

Gill, while things have changed, if you are familiar with 4.5, 6.1 isn't all that much different, the functionality is the same, the UI is modified around that functionality though.

If you are looking for missing modules, they are still available, you just have to search for them, check out Joe's blog post for more on this topic.

To get caught up, you can look at the stuff in the Intro section (first main nav item above). For release notes, you can find those on codeplex. The free core modules are here, http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/D... and look on codeplex.

Thanks Chris and Erik.
I am looking for a resource to see walk-through to develop DNN 6.x skin or video tutorials. Also where can I find good free skins, like DNN site has rotating Banner. Downloaded version used to have 4-5 skins by default installed but now the skin packaged with the download code has only one skin.
I used Artisteer v3.1 to develop DNN 6.x skin, exported a skin and installed to DNN. It end up applying that skin to a page not to the whole site.
On the home page, I want exactly the same way 4 images banner rotate with fading effect.... any clue how can be accomplished?
Thanks,
S Gill

Hi,

Regarding the skin issue, I'm assuming you have set the skin as the Portal Skin in Admin > Site Settings?

I would check the Page Settings (Pages > Page Settings > Advanced Settings tab) for each page that didn't change to the new skin and set the Page Skin to None Specified (I'm betting it is currently set to Dark Knight).

EDIT: Actually a quicker way is to go to Pages > Update Current Page and change it to None Specified there.
