Hi All,

On shared hosting server  I have installed DNN 6.1.1,  and instance is working fine

Now I have created one child portal named "a" and I am able access my "a" child portal  by  "http://mysite.com/a"

I have added a.mysite.com portal alias for my newly created child portal "a"

In  Parallels Plesk Panel I have created one sub domain ( type of "Subdomain on subfolder" ) named "a.mysite.com" and set the path to my "a" folder (httpdocs/a)

But when I hit the  "http://a.mysite.com/default.aspx" URL that showing compilation error

"

Compiler Error Message: CS0246: The type or namespace name 'PortalSettings' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)

 "

But when I hit the "http://mysite.com/a" is is working perfect.

Someone please help me resolve this issue.

Thank you

Have you tried adding a Site Alias "a.mysite.com" on the child portal. Host->Site Management->Edit Child portal->Advanced Tab->Portal Alias->Add new Alias.

Also in your cpanel point a.mysite.com to the same path as you are pointing www.mysite.com

Also for a parent portal (site) like yours a.mysite.com as opposed to www.mysite.com/a, you are better off creating a parent portal (site). Site Management has radio buttons to select Parent vs. Child Site.
