Well for me and my website (in the signature) using Chrome Google Page Speed extension, i get

- With everything enabled in client resource management a score of 57/100

- With everything disabled in client resource management a score of 66/100

Can somebody explain to me how can that be ?

Very strange. Maybe it's the increased page rendering that affects you. But I don't believe the effect should be that big. Are you on a slow host? Maybe the extra computation needed for combining and compressing files is has this effect on total performance.

Slow host?? This is not a high-end, high processing application!

It's a read a template, apply it.. read some text/modules/configuration and render a page.

Wills numbers clearly show it is slow performing. Both numbers are terrible... I'm surprised he posted it. I appreciate it and am not surprised.

I'm a little upset because 6.x was released with specific points of improved performance. That's completely false. If I take the default install (with all the DNN crap text) for both versions, 6.x is considerably slower! That's not ok.

I installed a brand new 6.1 and it is slow. It's terrible for a text rendering portal with no application modules. 5.6.x had almost instant response.

I can only assume somebody paid for this feature because they needed it.. and thus here we are. Just please, don't say performance is greatly improved when in fact it is greatly negatively improved.

Note: if you add a second to basic page rendering, which is the current status, you have done something wrong.

Brian, what are you talking about? The only performance slow down in Will's post is the Page Load Speed number which shows and increase of 0.06 seconds (at least I think they're seconds, he doesn't provide units) over 5.6.2's numbers. All other numbers show improvement. And they've stated many times this is just a first step. We should expect further improvement in coming releases.
