As I understand it I can get a custom form in an iframe? So what I did was design it in visual studio and try to upload it with DNN file manager but im told I can't upload .aspx file. Is this a hosting issue or am I going about this the wrong way?

An IFRAME allows website X to display pages from a different website, Y, as if they were part of site X.

I think you should take a look at the Form and List module.  It allows you to design your own form for users to fill in.

In Host, Host settings, you need to allow the upload of .aspx files.
