I am using dnn 6.1 and the most current AD authentication module. everything is working ok, with authenticating a user - and i even have it setup to create the domain user if they don't exist already. However, the whole purpose of Windows/AD authentication is so users don't have to sign in.

I can't seem to get the login/sigin window to not appear. When it appears, the users login with their domain user name/password (just like they would have to if forms authentication were activated)..and that works (letting them login with their domain account and assigning the proper privileges). However, i don't want them to have to see a login screen or login - they should just get logged in automatically.

I've toggled the "hide login controls" and that doesn't help. the login window still pops up - depending on the whether the login controls are checked to be hidden or not a different login control does pop up. If i check the "hide login control" the forms login screen/control displays. If i uncheck this, the windows authentication login screen appears.

I'm sure its not supposed to work this way. Anyone have any ideas on how i can get this resolved? The dnn manuals are nearly useless on this, and i can't find any info in any forums anywhere that is more current than dnn5.

typically you do this by using the windowssignin.aspx page (and removing anonymous permissions to it so that the user is forced to authenticate)
