I have a requirement to upload a CSV file and  replace the data in a custom table in the database with its contents.  I need for a non-technical user to be able to do this.

Any suggestions?

Joseph it is actually a technical task, so a non-technical user could experience problems. However, you can start by:

Connect to SQL Server Management Studio (use relevant authentication method and desired target server)
After connection from Object Explorer, expand Databases and select your database.
Right click your database and from Tasks follow the Import Data menu.

SQL Server Import and Export Wizard will pop-up and from there you can follow desired import method. However, it is a good practice to review column structure before using wizard.

If you don't have any chance to use SQL Management Studio, you can also use a third party module from DotNetNuke MarketPlace. For my client, I had to use Power Import module to manage records of database. Overall it was a good product for my client's needs. But for myself, I like to use SSMS.

Cheers.

Thanks, Ismet.

Yes, it is relatively easy to do with SQL, but really am looking for an "upload and click" kind of solution. It looks like Power Import is intended to import Users. I'm looking for something that will import a generic CSV file to an existing table.

Hi Joe

I use OpenWebStudio (http://www.openwebstudio.com/) to allow my clients to upload files into existing tables.  There are sample csv import configurations in the OWS downloads section:
