I just installed DNN 6.1.2 on on my local Windows 7 machine. I created a host accouint and now I can't login.  I want to create another user account and copy the password and salt into the Host account in the aspnet_membership table, but now I can't register a new account.  After I fill out the form and click the Register button, the popup seems to be posting back but nothing happens -- the completed form reappears.  Any clues?

Try clearing your browser cache and also try accessing the site in a different browser - for example if you are having this problem in IE9, try FireFox.

When you say that you cannot login as host user, what happens? Same "empty" postback as when trying to register or error message?

I tried clearing cache and using Firefox --- same result.  The Host login failure is "Login Failed", as if the password is wrong.

I realized the password I was entering was not long enough.  Why I didn't get an error message indicating that, I'm not sure.

Hello,
I have the same issue, no answer, nothing happens in 6.1.2 when the password is less than 7 characters. Has this been fixed (to have an error message) and on which reelase?
