Hello,

I have upgraded from 5.6.something to 6.01.02 on my install.  I have two issues now.  First, one of my portals I cannot log into.  I can log into all of the other ones.  Here is what I see:

Ok, I can't show you. At least not the way I was going to.  It won't let me upload a pic here.  But I'm sure that you are not really wanting me to see your file structure when I click the image picture in the toolbar at the top of the window I'm using to post this message...

So here's what it looks like.

This is what I see on one of my eight sites (www.verizonwp7.com).  I have tried in firefox and IE.  In firefox, it just keeps "connecting" and never gives me the ability to login.  In IE, if I wait long enough (several minutes), it does allow me to log in, and gives the same behavior of the sites that I can log into - the page loads into the popup. At first, I thought the problem with not being able to log in was possibly a bug due to that site not allowing registration, but I have another site that doesn't allow registration and it works.

Additionally, on all sites except two, the page does not change after login success. The page remains as it was, greyed out by the popup, and the page loads into the popup.  On two sites of eight, the behavior is as expected.  One of these sites is a site that has registration disabled, thereby dismissing my above suspicion.

 Can anyone give suggestions?

Also, I just noticed another problem.  If I look in the modules menu to add a module, I can only add HTML.  Did DNN really just con me into something where I have to purchase in order to add a new module?  Even modules I've already been using???  Even modules I've already purchased???  6 of my 8 sites are now broken, and it would appear on initial exam that I can't use features that were there before (where are "portals" settings?).  I'm feeling really up a creek...

Hello,

The spinning icon and never loading page typically indicates that an exception has occurred and the request cannot complete - you can view the logged exception via the event viewer (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W...) or by looking into the EventLog table in your database (one other option is to disable the modalpopup and you may be able to view the exception http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W...)

As for your other issues, no of course we do not try to stop you using anything you've installed, not seeing them again is suggestive of a problem - most likely an upgrade issue (the majority of which are caused by incorrect filesystem permissions or 3rd party modules which do direct database access) - please see http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/W... and use the linked pages to check the logs for upgrade and post any errors back here so we can try to diagnose the problem.
