Hi Mike,

We have finally had chance to look at this and can confirm we have managed to get the Authentication Provider working without Impersonation and without Classic IIS mode which is exactly what we were after.

For anyone still struggling, the way I did this was as follows:

  1. Take copy of web.config
  2. Run the two commands required for the module to work in Integrated mode
  3. Install the provider
  4. Enable impersonation, give the domain user full control over the website folder and ASP.Net Temp folder
  5. Complete the settings on the Auth module and check the AD authentication works
  6. Disable impersonation and check that the provider still works.

This *seems" to work for us although we did have some issues with the impersonation that really doesn't make much sense as you previously described!

As an aside, is there any way to set the module so that it doesn't overwrite the users profile every time they login on the domain? We only want the first, last and display names to be synced from AD and let the user manage their profile locally on DotNetNuke. Is this possible, or would it require changes to the source?

Glad you got it work Lee.

As for your question.... it would require changes to the source.
