Hi everybody:

I'm new on the DNN. I just installed the v 4.0.3 on this enviroment.

Windows Server 2003 Enterprise x64 edition, IIS 6, SQL server 2005 Standard, and the .Net Framework 2.0 x64.

It was my desire to see make the AD authentication work but it never could be done because when I click on the Admin, Authentication menu nothing comes up. I get "the page cannot be displayed". I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, thinking that it was a problem with the database. Finally I check the event viewer and foud these 2 events:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: .NET Runtime
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1023
Date:  6/13/2006
Time:  4:41:16 PM
User:  N/A
Computer: BASESTATION
Description:
.NET Runtime version 2.0.50727.42 - Fatal Execution Engine Error (000006427F886338) (80131506)

Event Type: Error
Event Source: .NET Runtime 2.0 Error Reporting
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1000
Date:  6/13/2006
Time:  4:41:19 PM
User:  N/A
Computer: BASESTATION
Description:
Faulting application w3wp.exe, version 6.0.3790.1830, stamp 42435e74, faulting module mscorwks.dll, version 2.0.50727.42, stamp 4333c83c, debug? 0, fault address 0x000000000071d3fb.

I found the KB article 913384 which reports these 2 error messages and refers a hotfix as the solution. Looks like the hotfix is only available for the x86 version of the .net framework. What I want to know if this is the first problem like this that the DNN has. is the DNN actually supported for a x64 enviroment.

Please reply as soon as you can,

Thanks

Angela

DNN is just a web app that runs on top of ASPNET which runs on top of IIS (it's simply an ISAPI extension) so the answer is that DNN should run in any environment where you can run ASPNET. This issue is probably only related to the .net framework.

Do you know the truth when you hear it?
