Hi,

 I have duplicated a skin file myskin.ascx as mynewskin.ascx . Then I duplicated the accompanying myskin.css file as mynewskin.css  . In the past this has worked for me no problem (mynewskin.css is applied to mynewskin.ascx), but that is not happening now. What am I missing?

DNN has to be restarted to see the skin (it's existence is cached to avoid checking if it exists for every page load).

Did you try to restart DNN? If you did check if it's reference in the page source, if not it's most likely a typo or a problem with access rights on the "server"

The reason for that could be that if you change the ascx of the skin, that also restarts DNN.
So if you change the ascx and add a new css file and refresh you see both.
If you first change the ascx, the refresh the browser and then add a CSS file it will not get loaded.
