I have an existing site installed on Windows 2003 with SQL 2005.
 
I copied everything in the compressed file overtop of the existing installation in IIS.
 
I deleted the new web.config and replaced it with the backup from the original from 4.0.1
 
Tried accessing the site, it said upgrade successful.
 
When I "click to access the site", I get the following error:

Dont delete the new web.config, just replace your values in the new one..

Im getting the same error but I installed a fresh copy of DNN 4.3.0.0. Does anyone know how can i get it working?

There are new config nodes in the latest release that you will have to have after upgrading.

The easiest way to make sure you have an up to date web.config is to copy your machineKeys and connectionStrings (plus any other nodes that are not from the core DNN config ) from your old web.config into the new one.

Please don't forget your object qualifier (down in sql section), if it differs, DNN will create new tables.
