I have used the edit content function to update the information to be displayed in a standard community edition 6.1.3 HTML module.

Having updated the information I use the save function to ensure the changes are properly stored. However after the circle displays and rotates to indicate the system is busy and then eventually disappears - nothing else happens. The display remains within the edit content screen.

I close the edit content screen - either by cancel or by x in top right corner.

The updated content appears on the page. Logout of admin user and content displayed is the original.

Login again as admin user and content shows as the newly updated information again.

Use the module control and select refresh to see if I can clear the issue and the following error message displayed:

An error has occurred. DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Deleted 0 files, however, some files are locked. Could not delete the following files: d:\virtualservers\prvcsdvy\localhistory.me.uk\wwwroot\Portals\0\Cache\Pages\196_ACABA51644A302FBB325E30E7931BAF8.attrib.resources;d:\virtualservers\prvcsdvy\localhistory.me.uk\wwwroot\Portals\0\Cache\Pages\196_ACABA51644A302FBB325E30E7931BAF8.data.resources; ---> System.IO.IOException: Deleted 0 files, however, some files are locked. html modules typically cache their content to help with performance - by default this is done in the filesystem and the cached files are created in a cache/pages folder. The system will automatically create and delete these files, however in this case it appears that something external to the system (e.g. a virus scanner, a search indexer) has locked some files and caused the exception (theres a small change that your permissions are wrong, but the message suggests it's related to an external process). Often this type of error is hard to reproduce and if it cannot be reproduced it may be safe to ignore, but if you regularly get it you will have to identify the competing process (e.g. via sysinternals process explorer or a tool such as http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/opened_files_view.html )

Thanks Cathal,

I have overcome the problem by copying the page involved, pasting in the new content to the new page, deleting the old page and removing it from the recycler, and then renaming the copy page to the original name.

If it happens again, I will probably do the same thing to overcome it. I don't fancy trying to find out what else is going on on a shared hosting server.

Regards, Shane
