I have been tasked to replace an old web server and website written in Cold Fusion 4.5/Apache with something modern without drastically changing the functionality of the current site.  Basically, I need to be able to let a user login securely to the top of an allowed directory structure and let them navigate through the directories and download files housed in those directories.  They have no rights outside of their top directory.  For example, \customer1 would be unable to see or login to \customer2's structure and \customer1\store would only have access to the store directory, not the \customer1 directory.

I would like to use an attractive, collapsible directory structure as a kind of menuing system if possible.  Internally, the directories are mapped and are populated directly from our production machines.

I am not at all locked into this method but would like to keep the organization similar to the directory structure that currently exists.  There is about 22GB in about 48,000 files that are uploaded about 9,000 at a time weekly so I really don't know of a better way of storing and organizing the files using the current system.

Any ideas and/or suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks!

Cold Fusion is not compatible with DotNetNuke.  DotNetNuke is an .NET based CMS and Framework.  On an CMS system you always have some mor tasks to convert HTML pages.  On HTML pages you have not many options to manage users about it didn't have an database with an secure access for managing users and roles on it.

To use DotNetNuke you need an .NET compatible Webserver e.g IIS, and an MS-SQL Database and the .NET Framework 3.5 or above must be installed on it.

To convert the content I would sugest copy and past from the HTML pages into the CMS pages your content.  Also it could be you have do to a Skin (Template) Design, or you must change your website design.

No.  I know.  What I am trying to do is replicate what is currently done in CF 4.5 in DNN.  I have already set up a machine with the latest and greatest DNN and transfered all of the compatible data over and editted it to use the .Net system.  The only thing I have left is the directory structure as described and I will have my website in DNN and I can shut down the old Apache/CF server.  Doing the menu system based on the directory structure in .Net is what I am asking about.

Thanks!

Cold Fusion didn't use a database to safe its content data. So if you want tu use HTML files you could use RAZOR Host to insert a html page, or you could use the IFrame module.

Basicly a CMS as DNN is it have only one physical page the start page, where are placeholders in it.  Over this page all Content would be loaded dynamicly from the Database tables into this page.  All layout are on Skins and Conatainer files, that would also be loaded over the a placeholder.  All settings are also in a database table.

So including html pages into the DNN did not work without you put hands on the DNN Core code, or using the RAZOR Host or an other module.

Matthais
