Hi all Dnns.

While i was searching for an image that could tell something about security in DNN i found this website (http://ashutoshthehacker.blogspot.com/2012/01/new-website-hacking-technique-portal.html) with an article about how to hack a dnn site through the gallery.

I tried to follow it, but couldn't hack anything. But maybe i'm doing something wrong (or my sites are secure :-) so i thought someone in here could test the hacking method so that any threats can be prevented.

The article is quite new, from january 2012.

Hello,

thats an ancient issue that was fixed with 4.8.3 (released May 23, 2008) - the same articles crop up from time to time as "hackers" copy each others content and try to pass it off as their own all the time.

In future if you have similar concerns I recommend you email security@dotnetnuke.com so we can assess it, rather than posting a possible issue in a public forum.

Thanks,

Cathal

oh, and if you're looking for security information I recommend the security section of the wiki http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/loc/allpages/Cat/Security.aspx (the OWASP article is particular popular) as well as http://security.dotnetnuke.com
